OF EXPERIENCE

I am a dedicated Kinder–8th grade principal in Texas who is passionate about supporting the growth and success of both students and staff. My love for education began early—during my kindergarten career day, when I dressed as a teacher and enthusiastically taught lessons to my stuffed animals. Not long after, I continued practicing my teaching skills by helping my younger brother learn to read.

These early experiences sparked a lifelong commitment to education and leadership. As a principal, I take pride in fostering an environment where teachers feel supported and students are encouraged to reach their full potential. I am a strong advocate for literacy, believing that reading opens doors to understanding the world, building knowledge, and creating opportunities for lifelong learning. Through my leadership, I strive to inspire curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning in every student who walks through our school’s doors.

As a bilingual teacher, I loved how this book honors a child's transition with kindness. Adrianna learns she can belong without shrinking herself, and that message matters. The story is simple, emotional, and uplifting, with gorgeous art. Perfect for read-aloud circles, and great for confidence-building discussions.

This book helped my first grader feel calmer about switching classes midyear. The character is relatable, and the encouragement to speak up feels gentle, not preachy. We also appreciated the theme of acceptance from classmates. A sweet, reassuring story we'll keep in our home library forever.
